What private information does your HTC Phone collect?
According to a recent report from technical experts, HTC's new software updates for a handful of devices installed a hidden data logging application that is designed to collect private user information for unknown and likely unlawful reasons.
According to the report, the privacy invading HTC data logging tool works by collecting personal data from ANY application on the HTC that uses the Internet.
Thus the private info collected from your phone by unknown persons could include:
1) Your account information (e-mail address, data sync status)
2) GPS- and network-based locations and a short history of last-visited locations
3) Your phone numbers from users' phone logs
4) Your personal text messages and SMS data and system logs
5) Active apps on the phone
6) E-mail address info phone numbers and any other sensitive data on the phone.Do you want to share this info with strangers? Call us now if you answered no.
HTC says it is investigating the report but has presented no solution to the users of these devices. If you use an HTC Android device and are concerned about your privacy please call Attorney Bill Kyros at 1-800-934-2921 or fill out info below to discuss your rights.
